Health and fitness is the state of being healthy both, physically and mentally. Regular exercises and balanced diet can improve health and fitness of a person. We can define health as the state of complete mental, physical and social well-being of a person

Physical Fitness

Experts define physical fitness as “one’s ability to execute daily activities with optimal performance, endurance, and strength with the management of disease, fatigue, and stress and reduced sedentary behavior.” Physical fitness is a state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations, and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest along with a formal recovery plan.

Healthy Foods to Maintain a Strong Mind and Body

Give your body the nutrients it needs by eating a variety of nutrient-packed food, including whole grains, lean protein, fruits and vegetables, and low-fat or fat-free dairy. Drink 8 to 12 cups of water daily. Eat dark green vegetables at least three to four times a week. Try to eat a bean-based meal at least once a week. Fish, Berries ,Winter squash.. etc..

Physical activities that build endurance include:

  • Brisk walking or jogging and gym workout
  • Yoga
  • Dancing
  • Swimming
  • Biking
  • Climbing stairs or hills
  • Playing tennis or basketball, etc..

Mental Fitness

Mental fitness, on the other hand, is more akin to the idea of exercising the mind to improve cognitive functions, emotional strength, and resilience. It involves activities and practices that enhance our ability to manage stress, solve problems, and maintain a positive outlook.

A parallel can be drawn with physical fitness, which relates to the body’s ability to function. Mental Excercise Doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku games, jigsaw puzzles and other games that rely on logic, math, word and visuospatial skills are great ways to increase brainpower. These types of games require multiple cognitive abilities, which challenges your brain and improves processing
speed and memory.
