In 1952, the Agurchand Manmull Jain College was established through the benevolence of Padmasri Mohanmulji Chordia, under the Sri S.S. Jain Educational Society, inspired by Her Holiness Shri. Sayar Kanwarji Maharaj and inaugurated by Shri. Sri Prakasa, the then Governor of Madras Presidency. In the same year, the Hindi Department introduced specialization in the 3rd and 4th semesters. The department has been a breeding ground for cultural and extracurricular achievements, with students actively participating and earning accolades. Currently, over 150 students are studying Hindi as a second language in our college, spanning across commerce, arts, and science groups.
