Ignoring Eyes

His eyes,

crystal clear,

and sharp as a spear,

trigger in her a billow of emotions.

His eyes,

a mirror of all that is

proper in society,

tempt her to break all bounds.

His eyes,

romantic, inviting,

and kind,

have become cold and numb.

His eyes,

things of order and restraint,

now avert her gaze

for the fear of prying eyes.

I don’t know

why I love you

while you hate me.

I don’t know

why you avoid me

and yet throw glances that melt my heart.

I don’t know

why you look so adorable to my eyes

even as you hurt me with your attitude.

I don’t know

why I crave for your love despite knowing

that I mean nothing to you.
