The Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Police Administration is a 3-year (6 Semester) regular programme offered under the University of Madras. The program’s goal is to provide students with a learning experience that will help instill a deep interest in the subject; develop a broad and balanced knowledge base and an understanding of key criminological concepts, principles, and theories; and equip students with the appropriate tools of analysis to tackle problems in the field. The course will develop students’ ability to understand the various forms of conventional and emerging forms of crimes; the approaches required to handle relational criminal behaviour; and to draw appropriate inferences from them. Provide students with the knowledge and skill set that would enable them to undertake further studies in Criminology and related areas or in multi-disciplinary areas.
