Eligibility Criteria
A student is eligible to enroll in the course if they have successfully completed a program equivalent to 10+2 or pre-university studies in any group.
Course Overview
The Department of Home Science-Interior Design and Décor was established in the academic year 2015 to meet the demand for talented and professional interior designers who can collaborate and create aesthetically pleasing environments for the end user.
The Program is designed to instill a creative blend in its aspiring students. The course deals with designing, creating, renovating, and planning a space for people. The course provides extensive knowledge in the range of basic and advanced interior design to create comfortable spaces from scratch. Students also go through a training session for various Computer-related courses and expertise in CAD, 3-D designing, and space management.
The course also teaches students the basic fundamentals of graphic design and other display and design software. Candidates learn about various software that can be useful in designing spaces. The course is designed to widen the knowledge and understanding of candidates scientifically.
Program Outcomes
The curriculum reflects the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). At the end of each course, students will be able to
- Apply ethical practices in the professional field by adhering to building byelaws and codes.
- Understand the importance of a green environment and sustainability of natural resources and make use of these resources to create a comfortable environment.
- Use eco-friendly materials in creating designs.
- Identify resources that can be reused and recycled for a greener environment.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge and skills by participating in various competitions, seminars and workshops.
- Evaluate these skills to enhance confidence and self-esteem.

- PSO 1: Understand and apply the elements and principles of design in interior to enhance aesthetic performance.
- PSO 2: Plan and Design the various floor plans by using Auto CAD software
- PSO 3: Apply the Art and Design on Textiles which enables them to achieve aesthetic performance in interior
- PSO 4: Design and Examine furniture design and ergonomic principles to create comfortable working environment.
- PSO5: Study and select appropriate building materials and finishes which enables safety and eco friendly environment.

Fee Structure
