M.Sc Applied Psychology (Specialization in Counselling)
M.Sc., Applied Psychology is offered with specialization in Counselling.
The course aims at theoretical understanding of the concepts, knowledge application and skill building. Students evelop their skills through internships, case studies and projects. The students are trained to administer various psychological tests and are encouraged to use the skills learnt in the classroom, workshops and seminars in practical settings. Students also gain valuable research experience as they have to submit a thesis project, in the final semester.
The programme prepares students in pursuing higher education and research, trains them to offer psychological services as counselling psychologists, and equip them to work in fields allied to psychology such as social work, human resource, public health and so on.
Some of the areas of applied psychology include counselling psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, engineering psychology, occupational health psychology, legal psychology, school psychology, sports psychology, community psychology, and neuropsychology to name a few.
