MTC Bus Concessions

In our college, for the sake of students travelling in bus, we arrange bus pass in concession rate from MTC. The process of providing bus pass starts from the month of June and ends in November. This goes on every year with the blessings from our Secretary, Principal, Advisors and Deputy Deans.

Every year, including this academic year (2015-16) more than 500 students got benefited by the bus pass. In addition, we also give orientation programme on road safety for students

Local train is the lifeline of people in Chennai, and students are no exceptions. Education without train travelling is a rarely seen case. Students (below the age of 25) are given a facility by the Southern Railway, giving them concession in train pass if they use the local train services for going to their educational institutes. Colleges in Chennai, provide students the railway train concession forms, issued by the Southern Railway, Chennai, to avail the concession facility. Students have to get Concession form. The concerned college authority has a cumbersome task of filling the student details manually on the form. Students commuting from home to college can save money spending in transportation by availing free Monthly Season Ticket (MST) bought by southern railways, one of Indian Railways zones. Monthly ticket is valid for a period of 1 month from the date of purchase. It needs to be renewed periodically.

These tickets are valid only if accompanied by valid identity card, and must bear the signature or thumb impression of the holder. No alteration is permissible in season tickets and they are non transferable entities. More details can be found on railway enquiry site on season tickets.
