AGURCHAND MANMULL JAIN COLLEGE LIBRARY

The sprawling library has access to 1,00,000 books, 23 magazines, 11 daily newspapers and 46 Journals among which 41 are National and 5 International. It provides access to specialized databases, digital archives, and e-resources, freely accessible wealth of information through its membership with INFLIBNET (N-List), DELNET, British Council Library and American Library. Besides these, the library has subscribed to Pearson E-Books supports the staff and the students to a great extent. Every year orientation classes are conducted for the first -year students to help them locate evaluate and use scholarly materials effectively. High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity in the library is another significant feature which ensures ease of access to the online resources.

Agurchand Manmull Jain College’s library serves as invaluable source of knowledge, providing access to information, fostering learning, and supporting academic and professional development. AMJC library, started in the year 1952 in the Main Block, initially had to its collection around 200 books headed by Librarian, Mr. N. S. Vedanta Desikan. AMJC library has evolved gradually and now has grown to a collection of around 1,00,000 volumes.

The new fully air-conditioned phenomenal structure situated in the second floor of the Sri Sardarmull Chordia Block in 5201 sq.ft has huge reading halls with five stock rooms, a reference section, a digital library, and a separate reading area for the faculty members.

About Self-Service Kiosk

The Library RFID Self-Service Kiosk is an advanced system, designed to streamline and simplify the process of borrowing, returning, and renewing books for library patrons. With the Library RFID Self-Service Kiosk, patrons have the convenience of accessing the system through various means such as RFID cards, biometric authentication, barcodes, or even facial recognition. By utilizing this user-friendly kiosk, patrons can take charge of their library transactions, reducing the burden on library staff and increasing overall efficiency. By simply placing their books on the kiosk, the system automatically carries out the issuing, returning, and renewal processes, all linked to the patron’s personal account.

About ISmart Shelf

ISmart Shelf is a cutting-edge library management solution designed to streamline the book return process. A patron places their returnable books on the ISmart shelf. The system’s sensors detect the presence of the book. Once the book is detected, ISmart Shelf displays a digital form with the patron’s details, including their name. It also shows the number of books the patron has returned and lists the names of the returned books. After the patron completes the return process, the home screen updates to display the return status.

Smart Book Drop-Box

The RFID Book Drop-Box is a ground-breaking solution that revolutionizes book returns in library. With our RFID Book Drop-Box, patrons can return books at their own convenience, eliminating the constraints of library hours and limited return windows. This hassle-free process allows individuals to return items even when the library is closed, catering to busy schedules.

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)

Online public access catalogue is designed to search the print resources using important fields such as Accession Number, Subject, Author, Title etc. All the books are classified and arranged subject-wise as per Dewey decimal classification. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facilitates the staff and students to save their time in locating the books. The student could also know the availability status of books as per their requirement.
