NSS of our college had its orientation program on 19th October 2019 at 12.30 p.m in the Annex Block Seminar hall.

Dr. N. Venkataramanan, Principal of the College and Chairman of NSS presided over the program along with Ex-Officio of NSS, Mrs. Sandhiya Devi and Prof. A.R. Ramakrishna Rao. Head Department of Economics, Agurchand Manmull Jain College as special guest on the Occasion.

The Program began with invocation welcome address was given by Prof. Murugan Program officer, NSS. Principal and ex- officio were felicitated during the occasion instillation of badges to the NSS student secretaries was done by the Principal, Ex-offico and the special guest. The Principal also released the program schedule for the Academic year 2019 – 2020 and the same was received by Dr. Rajesh program officer briefing the upcoming events for the year.

The Principal in his address stressed on the importance of service and wished the NSS volunteers  an eventful year. Prof A.R. Ramakrishna Rao, in his address motivated the students to serve the community at every given opportunity.

Prof. K. Sumithra, program officer, NSS gave some innovative ideas to the Volunteers and proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. T. Sutha, Program officer, NSS was the master of ceremonies. 

The Program ended with distribution of snacks to the NSS students. Around 200 NSS volunteers attended the program.



NSS of our college celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, Former President of India on 15th October 2019.


Principal of the College Dr. N. Venkataramanan, Head of Department, and Program officers of NSS staff and students of the college lighted the traditional lamp and paid rich floral tribute to the former President of India. Sweets were distributed by the NSS volume to staff & Students of the college


Charts with his Quotes and books written by the Former President of India were also displayed during the Occasion.

Dr.N.Venkaramanan, Principal of the college enlightened the audience on the contributions of Dr. Kalam to the Society and youth in India 

Students also spoke on Dr. Kalam being as inspiration to the youth of India.


1st October 2019 in National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. The NSS of our College Organised a campus rally and street play to create awareness regarding the importance of Blood donation among the staff and students of our College.






தொழுநோய்  ஒழிப்பில்சமுதாயத்தின்பொறுப்பு” in association with National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) Department of Public Health Government of Tamilnadu held on 27.09.2019 at 10.00 a.m in Annex Block Seminar Hall


The NSS of our College organized a Tamil oratorical Competition with the Department of Public Health (DPH), Government of Tamilnadu to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. 


Dr. G. Sridevi, Medical Officer, Thiru. Isaac Arulkumar, Health Educator, Thiru Ram Suresh Zonal Officer, Thiru Purshothaman, Thiru. Panner and Mrs. Sathya from the Department of Public health were present.

Dr. G. Sridevi, Thiru Ram Suresh from (DPH) and Prof. Anbu from the department of Tamil, A.M. Jain College were the Judges.

Prof. K. Sumithra, Program Officer, NSS welcomed the gathering. Prof. Murugan, Program officer, NSS Proposed the vote of thanks


Dr. G. Sridevi gave a speech on leprosy awareness. Harish of II B.Com (General) Shift –I got the first place and was selected for the District Level competition.

Prabakaran of I B.Com (General) and Indumathy of I B.A (English) Shift-I secured the Second and third prizes respectively. 




24th  SEPTEMBER 2019     

The NSS of our college celebrated NSS day on 24th September 2019. An exhibition was organised by the NSS volunteers in the Quadrangle of the main block.

The aim of the exhibition was to create awareness relating to social and economic issues. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Principal & Chairman of NSS Dr. N. Venkataramanan

A Cultural program to create awareness on the same issue was organised in Bhagwan Mahaveer Gyan Bhavan Auditorium. Events like Mime, Dance, Song and Speech was given by the NSS volunteers.

Best exhibits were given medals, participate were also given a token of appreciation. The Function was presided over by the Principal Dr. N. Venkataramanan Ex-Officio Ms. Sandhya Devi and Mr. Ravichandran Office Superintendent graced the occasion.


Principal and all the Hod’s and Faculty members conveyed their wishes on the Signboard. 

Swachh Bharat


                      On 27.09.2018, the 20 NCC Cadets of 1 Tamilnadu Signal Company NCC and 10 NSS Volunteers of AM Jain College, its Principal Dr N Venkataramanan and Prof.(Lt.) G.Mahaveer lifted plastic covers, carry bags, papers, fooditem covers from the railway tracks and platforms at Meenambakkam Railway Station along with the railway officials led by the Principal Chief Operations Manager of Southern Railways Sri S.Anantharaman. Both the teams took pledge that they will keep their house, neighbourhood, place of work clean without littering hereinafter and will give 100 hours effort towards the Swachha Bharat Abhiyan Programme of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji.

Southern Railways invited NCC team of AM Jain College to aid in  efforts for its Swachata Mission.

In furtherance to the variety in its ongoing Cleanliness Initiative, the NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers (both together 117 in number) of A.M.Jain College cleaned the campus of AM Jain College and its surrounding streets/road sides on 26 Sept 2018 and collected 14 bags of wastes comprising plastic covers/carry bags, papers etc. The Principal Dr.N.Venkataramanan and the Commanding Officer of 1 TN Signal Company NCC Lt.Col.S.Shashidhar participated in the Swachchta programme and appreciated the well-motivated cadets and volunteers towards their cleanliness drive. Thereafter the cadets and volunteers lifted plastics, plastic covers/carry bags, thermacoals, papers & other wastes from the Pazhavanthangal area and collected 27 bags full of littered waste materials. In total 41 bags of collected wastes were dropped in the dustbins kept for the purpose at various places.
