DEPARTMENT OF HINDI

The evening section of this college has become an integral part of this institution right from the day of its origin in 1971. The department of Hindi was started in the same year. Women faculty joined the department when the college became a co-education institution in the year 2003. The department follows the motto of the college in its own right, catering to the needs of the society. The lecturers are known for their punctuality, devotion is much sought in after in the Chennai city. The present generation of lecturers follows the imprints of their predecessors in getting the best out of the students.

Apart from academic commitment, the faculties volunteer themselves for other administrative work under the guidance of the advisors and dean. Every year students in Hindi achieved distinction and university ranks.

Apart from the class room teaching, we conduct various seminars, assignments etc and also train them effectively to meet the challenges that prevail in the society. Apart from their academies, they participate in many competitions. The name and fame of the department can be well understood from the steep rise in the students, strength every academic year. Students of the following department have opted for Hindi as second language.

Hindi is the national language of India; but, it is one of several languages spoken in different parts of the sub-continent. ‘National’ should be understood as meaning the ‘official’ or ‘link’ language. The homeland of Hindi is in the north of India, but it is studied, taught , spoken and understood widely throughout the sub-continent, whether as mother tongue or as a second or third language. The importance of Hindi language is the second most spoken language in the world after mandarin Chinese. It’s estimated that nearly half a billion people worldwide speak this wonderful language. The importance of Hindi is one of the many languages in India that is considered to be the national and official language of India.
